The Viper

Facts about the Viper:
Kingdom: Anamilia
Family: Viperidae
Diet: Lizards, birds, rodents
Natural Habitat: Tropical, wetlands

How do they eat?
Vipers will bite their prey using their fangs. The fangs would inject a deadly venom that will slowly kill the animal (not instantly). Then they will back off and follow their prey. The unlucky animal that was bitten will walk away and stray for awhile until they fall dead. This is when the viper will consume its prey and enjoy its meal.

How dangerous are they?
Vipers are one of the most dangerous snake species in the world. The reason is because of their venom. Their venom is so deadly that one bite can kill you.

Are they venomous?
Yes since they have fangs ,but since some snakes with fangs wont be poisonous (depends on the species) Some species of the viper's family will have a deadly bite. This bite would result in you dying. A good thing to know is that most snakes wont harm you unless they feel threaten.

Pit  Vipers:
They are a type of snakes that have heat-sensing eyes! They primary hunt at night because of this. Their "Pit" is located between their eyes and nose. This is what senses the heat from other animals and gives a picture to the viper of that animal. Most pit vipers hunt at night when its cold and its easier to other animals heat signature.
Cool Facts:
  • The vipers fang is not fixed like our teeth. They're hinged so they can close their mouths and their fangs will close comfortably.
  • Vipers can live a whole year without eating!
  • Vipers are found everywhere around the world except Madagascar, Australia, and the Arctic.
  • They rather use their fangs to kill than to defend themselves.
